, but don't really get most country music. Prefer bluegrass sort of stuff.
And yes, I guess in England as ottopottomouse said, it would be more folk music. And people like me listen to that sort of stuff.
British folk music started around 1600. Some of the early music is just beautiful. Then there was a folk revivial in the 60s, American country style fingerpicking was fused with British styles and players like Martin Carthy were popular. And now we get lovely lovely singers like Kate Rusby, who gives me goosebumps.
