Whether you believe what happened on 9/11 or not the fact is is that border laws increased drastically since then (seeing as the terrorists supposedly entered the States through Canada...) - I thought it was common knowledge that entering into the States wasn't allowed with a criminal record (without a pardon/waiver).
Was this your first time trying to enter the States since you were 18?

First time in 10 years probably. Before 911 it was very easy to get through and was rarely asked any questions beyond where you live and where are you going. The 911 terrorists never came through canada, its just not true, look it up. Regardless, besides 911 in the past 100 years how many terrorists have came through the border? I'd have to guess none. Though I bet there are people coming through with drugs who get through because they use people without criminal records.
