Frankly I'm surprised you thought you'd be able to get through. Has it worked before? Have you kept up with recent global-scale events over the past 10 years including the biggest one yesterday?

Whether you believe what happened on 9/11 or not the fact is is that border laws increased drastically since then (seeing as the terrorists supposedly entered the States through Canada...) - I thought it was common knowledge that entering into the States wasn't allowed with a criminal record (without a pardon/waiver).

Was this your first time trying to enter the States since you were 18?
