So my girlfriend and I were planning to go to NYC for a little vacation. Got to the border, they asked a few questions then asked if we had any criminal records. I said yes, I had something when i was 18 (I'm now 32). From there we were asked to get out of the car, i was told to not put my hands in my pockets. We went inside and waited a bit. Eventually they talked to us and said I can't enter.

Is this not retarded? I mean I can understand drug charges or recent charges but from when I was 18? FUuuuck. My girl is pissed and we are out a bunch of money from hotels. Does this stop real criminals? No..the people bringing back illegal stuff over the border will not use someone with a criminal record. All this does is keep millions of tourist dollars out of the US.

What a disappointment. Oh but wait, you can get across if you pay their bribe fee of 545 and go through a bunch of shit to get a permission waiver (which takes months to a year). What a bunch of shit. i was fingerprinited and treated like a criminal when I have been a good upstanding citizen for 14 years. Who didn't do stupid shit when they were 18?
