By all accounts there was at least a 1:1 male/female ratio, and my kids had a great time. My daughter thought there was a 3:1 female/male ratio, but she's a bit of a prude and tends to exagerate...
These kids are 19 (my son) and 21 (my daughter). They were shocked by some of the things that they saw, but were not offended - AND they ended up having a blast at the party. They now have a couple of entertaining stories to tell, as well.
It all depends on how you can market it. This group of people are doing great using AFF as a local service that allows them to meet up with like-minded people.
I don't promote the site myself, and my ex-sister-in-law found AFF without my input. But using AFF, members of my immediate & extended family have met a lot of people and made new friends.

WOW, really?!? I never would have thunk this kind of thing was happening. What are some of the things that happened at the party that your kids were shocked to see??
