My wife is a breeder...we currently have a litter of puppies that are almost two weeks old. They already show so much personality that I can't fathom how someone can just carelessly toss them into a river.

I would - without hesitation - kill a person who was trying to hurt my dogs. I have four of them, and they would give their lives to protect me without a second thought or hesitation. I would do the same for them.
I also have two cats. If someone threatened the kitties, I'd just sic the dogs on him.
