Real life isn't bright at all- it's shady, and warm, unless you live at a shopping mall or bus station or something.

Not that this isn't great content to sell and promote- it's just my personal taste. Could you live in your place if it was lit, basically florescent?
I'm with you on that, I think it's an over exaggeration on the teen factor maybe.
