I doubt that it's government jobs specifically that cause that difference... K Street alone earns over $3B annually. Lobbying and think tanks are big money. The Koch brothers alone have spent over a billion dollars on the above to fight HCR, Cap and Trade, etc, etc... not to mention the funds they pored into Tea Party rallies. Americans for Prosperity alone will spent $45M from now until November to defeat Democrats... after already spending an estimated $45M during primary season.
