20 years ago lived on Yucca Street in Hollywood. Now it's cleaned up, but back then it was ground zero for the 18th Street Gang. I remember back then hearing about how the gang would make some females who wanted to join the gang have unprotected sex with HIV+ gang members, to show their loyalty.
I have some awesome VHS tapes we filmed from the roof of other gangs doing drive by shootings into the 18th Street Gang's buildings, then the gang running out and shooting at the cars. Thinking back, my camera was HUGE back then.
