Another factor for me that helps me love myself and my body is my religion. I am made in the Lady's image -- and the Goddess ain't no skinny little toothpick. Think of the Venus of Willendorf or any of the other thousands of paleolithic fertility goddess images: female figures with round hips and asses and bountiful breasts, the avatars of female fecundity that produced children and fed them, the echo of the bounty of the earth that fed and sustained all life.

I can't hate what I am when what I am is just like Her.

Lastly, I finally decided that there was enough goddamn hate to go around, and I wasn't going to keep it going by hating myself and what I look like. I've got too much to do, too big of a life to enjoy and grab hold of and celebrate for all its worth -- I'm NOT going to waste my time moaning and wailing that I'm too fat because somebody else said so. I say I'm just fine the way I am.

Honey, I've always been caught up in alternative religions, this is one that I find it hard to find a good site where I can read up on and get my teeth into, do you have any good resource sites you could point me to - pretty please?
