Without further ado....

Fact 1. On saturday august 14th we are examining stats from past month and noticed a very strange and concerning pattern.
It was only after manually writing down the stats on pieces of paper with columns and laying them side by side on the table examining form hits vs submission percentages vs joins ...this way of viewing ccbill stats gives you a slightly different perspective than viewing stats in the ccbill admin. Try it yourself you will see what we mean.

Fact 2. We decided that it would be worth having a look at identical older stats from previous years because for the most part our sales patterns have had the same peeks and lows over the years, and have been consistent and we felt that data would prove valuable for comparison purposes.

Fact 3. we noticed on saturday that when we tried to pull older reports which have always worked for us in the past that for some reason the stats were displaying incorrectly...Now immediately this was suspect for us because we felt like that looking closely at older data would shed some light on these erratic patterns of late.

follow me so far

Fact 4. A call is placed to ccbill, and asked them before sharing any concerns, "are their any issues going on with stats reporting?" CCBILL rep responds no issues reported at all with stats.

Fact 5. The ccbill rep himself tries to pull the same reports as we did from 2007 and even he acknowledges this is strange, not sure why you are getting these incorrect reports.

Now before I go further since you all feel the need to lecture me, You need to understand that all we as clients have is the word of ccbill and our stats to satisfy our curiosity.

Fact 6. The ccbill rep said he wanted to check into this because he had never seen this before, and could not offer any acceptable reason. He understood completely that when you have INACCURATE STATS REPORTING of any type it is a cause for concern, especially in today's world, and when you are dealing with money...your stats need to be accurate at all times...PERIOD

Fact 7. He assures me that he will talk to some techs and follow up with an email...okay end of discussion.

Fact 8. I Come to my precious GFY family (even though they treat me like the BLACK SHEEP...no pun intended) to find out if this is a local issue with my stats or is anyone else having this issue...

Fact 9. Some GFY members said they had no problem, then some said they did have the same problem.

Fact 10. Mr CCbill Paul Himself comes on GFY and says he is not aware of any problem with stats reporting...

Let's sum this up briefly...

stats Reporting issues discovered by us on saturday 8-14-2010 that none of us webmasters seem to be aware of...

CCbill Paul comes on GFY moments later and claims he is unaware of any stats reporting issues, ccbill Rep on telephone is initially unaware of any stats reporting issues and admits it is indeed strange to be getting erroneous reports and he can certainly understand why one would be concerned...

So we have the ccbill corporate advocate who is always the first to come in address concerns ...nothing wrong with that, he's doing his job right?

He has on numerous occasions assured all of the webmasters that all systems are go and nothing was wrong when many have insisted and still insist something doesn't look right with their stats....

Remember ccbill paul made a total of 3 posts in this thread about how there were no issues with stats reporting... pkay case settled right no issues according to him...

so then we receive the following email from ccbill...

"This is in regard to the phone call you just placed with us.

I spoke with our tier 2 agent, he advised me that the Form Hits report has been filed as a known bug for inaccuracy.

This issue has been known by our Development department for sometime now, and they are trying to isolate why it would sometimes be accurate and sometimes not be accurate.

It was my mistake to think that our reports back then were weekly, but instead it's a bug. I hope was able to address all your concerns."

Now the email explanation seemed plausible at first, but then after further review and break down we reached a few more conclusions...

Fact 11. What we have in our possession is an email from ccbill acknowledging that not only is there a bug/error with stats reporting...BUT this is an issue That the DEVELOPEMENT TEAM has been aware of FOR SOME TIME!!

Okay slow it down a second, now go back and read ccbill paul's second post in this thread...he said at approximately 1:49 pm that he was unaware of any reporting issues!

He said it again three hours later around 5:12 that he would update the thread if he found any stats reporting issues.

Of particular note, the only one who came in during the 3 hour window Between CCBILL Paul's post was ...you guessed it BV the one who always defends CCBILL with such vigor and Zeal .......I mean CCBILL doesn't even defend CCbill as well as BV..

but getting back to the email .... what is quite disturbing to me and still is that the email gave me more questions...

1. SO if you read the letter they are admitting that there is an error with the reports... one that CCBILL PAUL and CCBILL BV are not aware of, nor is the CCBILL phone rep, however the CCBILL DEVLOPEMENT team has been aware of this error for some time.

Not only are they aware of issues with reports but they are clueless as to why sometimes the stats are accurate and sometimes the stats are INACCURATE??

Now sometimes stats are inaccurate and we don't know why...
Now sometimes stats are inaccurate and we don't know why...
Now sometimes stats are inaccurate and we don't know why...

( please excuse my little dose of N.L.P to make the point stick)

Ok well when and how am I supposed to know when the stats are inaccurate or accurate when there is nothing in ccbill admin that says "ERROR" then the CCBill operations specialist is on gfy denying reporting issues exist every chance he gets, the telephone rep, who you would expect to be briefed and up to spec on current bugs, glitches, errors

none of us webmasters know, but you have a tier 2 tech, as well as developement team knowing about this for some time, and can't get it fixed so I can have unfettered access to all my data in my reports

Don't tell me well thats old stats.... now if they are admitting to having known inaccuracies with stats and they don't know why...not only should you be concerned about the accuracy of ALL your stats, but they should explain why they have been telling the dozens and dozens of webmasters who insisted that their stats looked funny that there have been INACCURACIES that they cannot explain

At least it would make them appear to not be hiding or covering up REPORTING ISSUES... They sat back for a year and told all these webmasters who question their stats that nothing is wrong,,,but they let an email slip out that says they do in fact have unexplainable inaccuracies that have been around... I meant ain't that a bitch??@#?

your data is your data, and is relevant and should be accurate and available,if it is not, you should not have to find out on your own while the premier pr person is telling you multiple times there are no issues....then you find out its been ongoing

If CCBILL paul admits he was in the dark about this, how can we know he is not in the dark about other issues or concerns?

I mean I would like to know are the stats inaccurate in days when I have 0% join form submissions with ccbill, but then have moderate sales on back up processors the same day?

At the worst it shows the more answers we get the more questions we have, at best it shows ineptitude and extreme miscommunication by and between ccbill staff .

You cannot say they are beyond reproach and 100% reliable with their data when they just admitted they don't know why there data is sometimes accurate and sometimes not!

if u want to say ccbill paul made a mistake this time, then let HIM admit his mistake if you want to call me a lunatic, nobody is stopping you, but I will know where I stand from this point on with my beloved gfy family

I mean they just admitted on record that there are stats reporting bugs that have been in existance for some time that they have no clue as to how to resolve AND that it causes DATA to be sometimes accurate, and sometimes inaccurate!

To me that is a profound statement, if that does not concern anyone else then I have no use for this place ever again..

Do you know how many webmasters have seemed to just want ccbill to admit what they just admitted in this email??

Bottom line I can't prove that they are engaged in some type of fraud nor did I accuse them...I said they fucked up and put their foot in their mouth!

there is still a lot more questions than answers, am I totally disgruntled with them..No..Have they paid me on time, forever...yes!

Do they have a good reputation...yes

Do many webmasters feel there could be something shady going on...yes

Do many webmasters feel they are square and honest across the board...certainly yes

Have I been burned for 10's of thousands of dollars by multiple processing companies in my career...as well as victim of mortgage fraud, twice...

am I a little overzealous when I smell something fishy with my money...maybe but it is because of the hard lessons I have learned being too trusting with individuals and companies with my money that has cost me more than I wish to remind myself over the years
