Another thing to remember is, in general, current culture abhors the "hero" or "rock star".
We are not children anymore who can believe that people on album covers are not just ordinary folk who have problems like everyone else.
Elvis, Hendrix, Morrison and Lennon did rock and roll a huge favor by checking out before we got sick of their crap, seeing people like Ozzy become old and decrepit self-parodies is not helping.
