The music industry operates a lot like the fashion industry.
There are a few corporate type people that sit at their desks and decide which direction
the industry heads and it's always determined by how much money it will make them.
The one thing in our favor is we no longer need to rely on the corporate types to become a star. Someone can post a video of themselves on youtube and become a star based on public popularity which the corporate types can't ignore.
However, they still decide which direction the music industry goes and lately that hasn't been a good thing.
