As a lifelong guitar player and occasional professional, I would say that I don't mind it being a small niche, it needs time to regroup and purify as the world gets stupider.
Rock and roll was supposed to be the music of freedom for people who thought for themselves, alot of idiots ruined it with their mullets and fishnet tank tops and power ballads.
The players who stick with it will get their share of respect when the pendulum swings back.
