So I just saw The Matrix: Reloaded

First of all, this movie was not the total dog I expected it to be. Reloaded is not as good as the first Matrix, but it holds up fine as its own movie. Now, here are some specifics (warning, some extremely tiny spoilers coming up):

Things this movie could have used less of:
1) Less of Neo screwing Trinity. There was just too much face sucking going on in this movie.
2) Less of that stupid dance orgy scene in the caves of Zion.
3) Less abuse of the "bullet time" photography. Practically every time a little action gets cooking, everything is frozen and the camera swings around the scene. This includes overuse of the "frozen in the air" effect.
4) Less of Neo's Superman act.

Things this movie could have used more of:
1) More of the smarmy French guy.
2) More ass-kicking like the courtyard scene (from the commercials, I didn't expect to like this scene but it was actually highly entertaining).
3) More Hugo Weaving. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of Hugo Weaving in this movie, but you can never have too much because he is awfully amusing.
4) More battle mechs. I cannot stress this enough, I want to see these badass machines get a much bigger part in the next movie.

So, if you liked The Matrix or futuristic action movies in general, I recommend seeing The Matrix: Reloaded. There's a lot of ass-kicking, some great special effects and even a little humor.

All in all, not too bad a way to spend a couple of hours.
