The only things I see anybody being able to do is member interaction (can't be stolen). And that's not innovative at all. Matter of fact, "innovative" isn't really that big of an equation at this point is it?

In the big picture, porn is porn. If you have a hot girl with a big fan base, a big personality, and the smarts to market her and deliver the goods...then you have the winning formula.

I'll be real interested to see if anybody comes up with any innovations that can make a guy cum better when he watches porn.

But it's always kinda cool to see if somebody can really come up with something new that is still going to do the real function that porn does.

I'd still wonder why anybody would want to step into a biz that is so hurt by piracy though. Unless it's webcams or toys or some other non-steal-able product. They might just innovate themselves right back out the door unless they are real good.

Especially when competing with experienced guys who already know how to do this.

Takes some big balls I suppose.

What were the attitudes of the new companies owners when they saw the show? Were they a little disappointed by there not being a lot of "sizzle" with the steak? I know back when I went to my first show in the 90's I was dazzled by it all. Couldn't believe what I was seeing and how much money was involved in the show floor at the Sands Expo

It inspired me to get up on that level.

These new guys are basically taking a leap of faith here without much proof that it's worth it. Pretty ballsy move!
Robbie, I agree with a lot of your points, and totally understand

I don't think 3D (or things of that nature) is the future at all. And free is hard to beat. But it's not impossible.

I disagree with genuine "member interaction" as being non-innovative. There is always room for improvement in any case. Great foresight is a hard thing to produce, hindsight is a breeze.

I am involved with another adult startup company (launching within the next 30 days, you will see), and what we are developing is definitely expanding the boundaries of "the box" (thinking outside of the box is impossible, it's a vacuum). But being on the edge and expanding possibilities is doable.

But why would a production company spend money on producing a new feature length film? Or why would a band bother creating a new album if it's just going to be sold for .99 cents or stolen on P2P?

The problem is there are plenty of thieves, but there is lack of true innovation.
