Just wanted to speak with you about the importance of doing whats best for you. Don't go along with just anything, learn to question people's requirements and rules in this business. I'm speaking as someone who makes movie galleries as a means of getting sales.

As I was hand submitting yesterday, I came across several movieposts with interesting sets of rules....

A Few Movieposts required more than 1 minute of movie content on your gallery in order to get listed, then I ask myself the question. If I'm giving the surfer more than 1 minute of movie footage, why do they need to sign up? Also from looking at my DVD content license, I see that my license doesn't allow for more than 60 seconds (1 minute) of content outside of a members area. So these movieposts are actually asking you to break the agreements of your content license.

Also look at the bandwidth issue, when you give up this much content on a gallery, your going to burn some gigs and to that the fact that by showing this much content your already hurting your chance of a sale
your profit margin will be smaller and possibly 0% (you could lose money)

The solution: Don't attempt to get listed on every site, there are some sites who have requirements that I feel will have a negative impact on my bottomline. Also read and follow the rules of your content agreement/license. If you break those rules and guidelines you can have your content license voided in a worst case scenario.
