I'm not a musician so I can't compose ever a simple 3-note melody. But my son can. He is playing guitar in a heavy metal band and of course he composes the music (almost all music their band plays) and lots of instrumental computer music. Actually he composes the music for their band mostly on computer. I'm a total layman in his software but the only thing I know for sure, he uses Windows XP 32bit.
