In college we used to port scan to find any consoles that were playing MUDs, then we ran a program that pummeled them all with an endless stream of control characters so the screen would fill up with garbage and the terminal would beep endlessly until it crashed, leaving the person's character defenseless in MUDland.
It was particularly funny if a bunch of people were playing in the computer labs and they all got bombed simultaneously.
They would all move to a different terminal, and then get hit again.
