If I were really pissed and sufficient money were involved I would go legal but you aren't interested in that. I wouldn't do something like this in a case where they genuinely cannot pay, but more for when they do something like shut down the program and keep my rebills while basically telling me "Fuck you!"

A lot of people *could* do Black Hat type stuff but those who actually would aren't going to talk about it. They'll just do it. I wouldn't. There are other ways that more effective in my opinion. I'd rather fix it so that the owner cannot start another program again or so that when people in their town Google their name they see what a fraud they are. Far more effective than making them lose their SEO or forcing them to restore a server from backups. Not to mention it's a bit more civilized.
Yeah often the urge for lash out can consume affiliates. In reality there is little you can do except keep the memory alive and warn others when these scumbags try to get back into business.

I have seen affilaites consumed with hatred which ruled their working days, and instead of building or changing sponsors they just put all their efforts into attacking the sponsor program that dissed them, with little or no effect. Infact many of those affiliates are no longer around because they just self destructed.
