Paul wouldn't regulate against campaign finance.

Social security and medicaid/medicare have been a ponzi scheme from their inception. They keep raising the minimum age in hopes the recipients will die off before they collect. The programs are nothing but a slush fund for income tax shortfalls. By the time the "boomers" hit critical mass on the public dole the house of cards crashes.
This is the same as state pensions in the UK and it seems only Norway has gotten this right, although they have petrodollars backing them.

Despite this you still have to take care of the poor, elderly and sick, Paul's free market principles don't factor this in at all. Under a Paul administration there would literally be people dying on the streets. You think church hospitals are going to pay for MRI scans? Please.....

Dont sell the gold standard short. The price of the commodity will fluctuate with demand. If the U wants to print 15 trillion dollars a year they bett buy the commodity. If they can't afford it, dont fucking spend the money. I dont see the harm with the concept.
Gold is just as useless as the paper they print. The only thing different is that it's a finite resource so it can't be created on demand.

Returning to the gold standard will basically cause the price of gold to rise exponentially when the demand for currency rises, it isn't a solution for inflation, in fact it isn't a solution for anything. Paul talks about have the Fed and fractional reserve banking is destroying dollar buying power and causing inflation. He doesn't detail how switching back to the gold standard would solve this. Hong Kong ties it's currency to US dollars, didn't stop deflation there, which can hurt an economy just as badly.

But dismiss Paul as a kook and for for the actor or whomever Jon Stewart thinks you should vote for. Then you can hang at starbucks with the other cool dudes, sipping on you latte and lamenting how fucking bad things are.
Actually I don't vote and I'm not an American. I'm hardly going to support the liberals, my previous posts just pick on those consider "radical" in the American political system, although mediocre by my own standards.

I'm a Libertarian, but you'll have to look up the true meaning of the word on Wikipedia, not the bastardized version Americans consider to be Libertarianism.

And you'd most likely catch me reading Noam Chomsky than watching The Daily Show.
