This is one significant problem.
Even if this turns out to be the case, your efforts might well be rewarded by the successful affiliates that you help to create and continue to support.
Perhaps, the best way to start is with a "bag of new ideas" as "Competitors will copy it, what most of this industry does, so nothing new there" ? that is a true statement ? although this is by no means unique to this industry in itself.
Even if the new idea is copied, you will have the lead. With something new and unique or even your own new twist of some successful idea to offer as its follow-up ? you can keep the lead.
Staying one step ahead and always having a new plan is a never ending task.
