That is not necessarily true. You need to know if they went to trail with ALL the charges. The best way to explain this is if a guy killed 4 people the State/Feds will go to trail on the first 2 and if they fail, then reintroduce other charges ie., being the second 2 murdered people. i don't even think they can do that , i'm pretty sure if they bring you to trial they can't retry the case on new charges if the charges stemmed from the same incident , only if they were seperate ( but this is coming from a newspaper law degree
)
