Actually, he always had the gate open if I ever want to pick my grapefruit or trim the trees between our property, but now there is no need for the gate because the entire block wall that runs from the side of his house to mu property fell over.
He has always been a pretty cool guy, I think losing his home has taken it's toll and I just happened to be there during a bad moment. Heck, he has seen me watering before, waved and never said a thing...yesterday was a different story ;)
