Yes, that is also the experience we have made with the past 2 Summits. From a professional stand point it absolutely makes sense not to be directly in the center of the city. We are mainly a serious business show (with some entertainment elements), and for us as organizers to be able to create a maximum of business opportunities for our guest and sponsors it is essential that the group stays together most of the time.
Besides that, I still do believe that people rather network with a cocktail in their hand outside on a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, than being stuck in a hotel in the city center where it is unbearably hot and no wind is going.
And as the show is during the week, people always have the chance to fly in the weekend before or stay the weekend after to check out beautiful Barcelona and its surroundings - which are definitely worth seeing!!
