The problem with the pricing on most US medical care is the way the government subsidizes the insurance industry. It is basic business math that you add cost when you add middlemen. A lot of what we pay in medical goes to malpractice insurance payments and administration on getting payment out of patients' insurance companies. Yet insurance is tax-deductible and medical is only half-deductible and then only when it is a catastrophic expense.
