I like the "What is the meaning of life?" story from the Procul Harum song where the guy goes to Tibet and is told he can ask the Dalai Lama one question, but he has to meditate for 20 years. When the 20 years is up, he gets his audience with the Lama and asks, "What is the meaning of life?" to which the Lama replies, "Life is like a turnip...isn't it?"
