That, plus I have a 14 year old. In the event of an emergency, the land line is more stable, and I want to have that.
Also, I use ATT's elite dsl, so it's better for me to have a land line from that perspective.

Cell towers flake, land lines don't. Batteries run down in power outages, don't need power to have a land line.
