You are obfuscating the issue. Regarding the age, the cop must have realized this was a teen girl, or in her early 20s... I dont think he confused her with a 25 year old male gangbanger, did he
Regarding race, I didn't say the cop did what he did because she was black, I can't speak to that although I have my own opinion. What Im saying is the mob mentality that forms around these issues, 'yea she deserved it, punk ass bitch' 'good, punch her lights out, she had it coming' etc etc is influenced by her being black, so you'll always take the other side. You'll never admit it obviously but you know its the truth.
And on that note, I'll admit myself that I concede to those same stereotypes, when I see a security video of a black guy punching an old woman and stealing her purse the first thought that comes to my mind is a racial stereotype. So although some of you like you get on your high and mighty horse, you know good and well my point.
Outside of this secondary debate, my point remains: a cop punching a YOUNG girl in the face is excessive force and unnecessary to subdue an unruly person. As I stated, I'm just sort of shocked when I read some of these posts.
