The 3D tv's aren't all that much more expensive, it's when you have to buy the new player and glasses that it starts adding up. People will buy it because we are a society of consumers and the sheep buy everything if it's priced right.
I say I'll wait until they have one that you don't need glasses, but who knows i might cave eventually when I need to upgrade.
