Tip for people with domains at GoDaddy running into steep renewals on non-com/net/org
There's a major running thread at NP with the latest active GD codes being discussed, and I constantly see people there asking for renewal codes on things like .us ($19.99 renewal cost) and getting responses like "only downforce for $3 off". Granted some of you may have very few domains at GoDaddy vs. a lot, but in the case of an extension like .us or other similarly expensive ones, the best thing to do is look up the bulk renewal rates and if it's a better discount than the best active coupon code, see if you can renew that many domains REGARDLESS of extension, preferably with the other 6 being the same extension so you can use the best coupon code for that extension.
Example: Say I have 6 .com's and a .us coming up for renewal. Handy code DNF5 reduces renewal of 6 or more .com's to $7.17 apiece (which is the best renewal rate btw - code tvspecial is the best for renewing less than 6 @ $7.47 each).
If I renew my .us on its own, I would be charged $19.99 or at best $16.99 using a coupon, BUT if I tag it along with renewing the 6 .com domains, it will get a bulk renewal rate of only $9.99...$10 savings just for utilizing bulk renewals, and $7 more savings than renewing it alone and using a coupon on it. The easiest way to ensure you get that bulk rate is in the Domain Manager, click "Search" on left-hand side and "Bulk Search", then input the 6 .com's and .us, then checkbox them all and select renew.
Hope that helps some of you. We domainers with our thousands of domains find all the ways to be cheap with things, lol.
