In what ways did they cut corners? As far as I know they install all safety equipment that is required by law. There are claims that they failed to install some optional additional safety equipment, how true that is and what effects it would have had on this accident, is debatable.
It was a tragic accident, there is no doubt about that, but saying that they caused this, is a bit off base.... It was an accident, it could have happened to any other oil drilling company out there...
