In the US I believe if you take a picture or video from the street of someone in their house it's legal.

The reasoning is you should not be doing anything that you will find objectionable in public. If it were the other way around CCTV and News gathering people would have a rough time.
I guess laws are different.
Here, it's not illegal to take pictures in public, but may be illegal if nudity is involved and without consent. Nudism sites are not illegal, but you can be sued or reported by the offended. In private it also need consent, nude or not, but I assumed you meant private was illegal no matter what.
