The kid got more glory out of the whole situation than if the perfect game happened as normal and went into the record books, and it's not like he and everyone else on the planet doesn't understand he did in reality pitch a perfect game.
The whole "omg it must have the human element" bs will hopefully die though and they'll finally institute an instant replay/challenge system. Such a system works perfectly fine in football and tennis, why not baseball? The sport is already mostly boring as fuck, what's another couple minutes to make sure correct calls are made?
