a) Technically the "logo" here is a clipart phone and a yellow line. Not much to say about it really. Does nothing for me.

b) The "logo" here is a globe. Again. Boring, and nondescript. The typeface is better, although I wouldn't ever use all caps in anywhere, especially not in a strapline. CAPS MAKE THINGS HARDER TO COMPREHEND. We read words in shapes and when you use ALL CAPS THE SHAPE OF THE WORD DISAPPEARS. Meaning people will not read it.

You need to get someone that understands branding to work on making you a logo and a logotype.

You are absolutely right. Ninetynine percent of all so called "logo designers" dont get this. However if I had to choose between those two I would pick number 1 - number 2 says nothing.
