But it's pretty much pointless isn't it? A warship ordered another ship to stop. After asking nicely, I'm sure they changed their tone, maybe sent a warship in closer as a warning, and then maybe fired across the bow - the international signal for ships at sea to stop. (Similar to a warship dropping two grenades overboard as a signal to submerged submarines to surface.) After that, pretty much all bets are off.
It's like a car chase. The police order the car to stop, and if he doesn't, they start to take action against the car. Eventually force is used - and further force if required after the car has stopped. In this case, you can't ram boats against boats.
I'm sorry, no matter how you slice it, these people were ordered to stop by a warship, refused, and paid the price. Then when they were boarded they attacked them. Fuck that. They got what they deserved.
