But there's a huge difference here. The Palestinians - which is governed by a terrorist organization - is tossing bombs blindly at the Israeli civilian population. When the Israelis retaliate, they do so with their military and it's overwelming force which causes civilians to get caught in the cross fire. There's staggering difference between a terrorist group tossing bombs into another country blindly and a military action in which innocent people get killed.

the blockade is illegal. if you intentionally stop an unarmed civilian aid convoy and slaughter it's occupants , you can expect to catch flak .
How is the blockade illegal? (Was the US blockade of Cuba illegal?) Can you point out exactly under "International Law" that this action was illegal?

This is one country who has issued a military blockade to prevent another country from getting weapons. It's pretty much an act of war really, however, being as a state of war has pretty much existed here for some time, that's a moot issue isn't it?

Your calling this an "unarmed civilian aid convoy". I'm calling this a group of ships that intentionally attempted to run a military blockade AFTER being warned not to.

If the police stopped a city bus to search for weapons and 1 guy had a handgun does that give the right for the police to open fire on the bus occupants who may have no affiliation or knowledge of the 1 guy with a gun ?
Look at how this played out. Setting aside the fact that they were warned before they left port... Once at sea they were told to turn back by the Israeli military and refused. If any ship at sea refuses the order of warship, well, at that point pretty much all bets are off.

If the police stopped a city bus to search for weapons... this doesn't really apply in this context. Your talking about a ship of people who intentionally ran a military blockade. That's like one person with a handgun on a bus and thirty people on the same bus intentionally traveling across the US with the intention of storming the White House and then blowing through the front gate. Your calling these people "innocent" - but yet they very well knew they were blowing through a military blockade that's been in place for four years, and going against military warships. Everyone aboard those ships knew exactly what they were doing.

They attempted to run a military blockade, no matter what their intentions. If they went through the proper channels no one would have gotten hurt.

It's perfectly legal for Mexico to send a ship of whatever to US ports. However, if they avoid customs and the US military is called in - and then refuse to answer to a boarding party, guess what - Shots get fired. It's not open to discussion.
