Too tough to call. So many strong teams as always.
I like to see England do well (for a change), but anyone predicting Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Brazil or Argentina as well as any of several other countries has a decent chance of calling it right.
For those that may have forgotten, the 2006 world cup final came down to Italy and France. Italy won it 5-3 in a penalty shootout after the game ended in a 1-1 deadlock.
Other things to consider;
Apparently no European team has ever won outside Europe.
What do the oddsmakers say? According to
this site it seems Spain is the favorite, followed closely by Brazil, England and Argentina. Surprisingly, Holland comes in at #5 odds on favorite ahead of Italy the defending champs.
I'll say England, but there are a lot of teams I like this time around.
