:mad Adult WMs are NOT the .XXX "sponsoring community"

I caught the "Executive Summary" that was posted in the comments for XXX
http://forum.icann.org/lists/icm-opt.../msg13161.html

Kieren McCarthy(ICANN's former general manager of public participation) was hired by ICM to prepare an Executive Summary regarding the process options. You can read it in full here, along with my comments.
http://kierenmccarthy.com/2010/05/18...dot-xxx-issue/

So I posted asking why they separated the "adult community" from the "sponsored community" in their analysis.
- members of dot-xxx?s sponsored community
- members of the wider online adult entertainment industry

Their answer throws a whole lot of light on the situation, and I feel that we have to bring it to ICANNs attention ASAP,

Quote:
ICM?s argument, I believe, is that dot-xx is not intended to be for the whole adult industry but only those that want to sign up to it. So if you don?t want to sign up, you don?t have to. And it shouldn?t impact anything you do with .coms or .nets etc etc.
So they are saying that the "adult community" doesn't count, because the "sponsored community" only includes those that support XXX.

I've already sent a couple emails to people who might be able to contact ICANN directly.

If you have any contacts that can bring this to the attention of ICANN before they actually make their decision, it would be great.
