It's simple, take away BP's license to do business in the US till the leak is plugged, I bet it would be fixed in a couple days, this is about how much money they will loose if they plug it in a way that won't let them go for it later

He doesn't have to do ALL that, no president has ever done all that and no president will ever do all that. I'm sure like most of us, he has no idea how to stop the leak... that would probably be the most logical answer seeming nobody would actually want this to happen for so long.
If he pulled BP's lic to do business here you would have a lot of stranded Americans without food, oil, gas, supplies, etc and that would create a huge ass fire storm.
It's a bit crazy to think anyone is just allowing this to happen... the cost of cleaning it up will be far far far greater than just stopping it and starting fresh.
