I believe the original hiroshima nuke was a one ton bomb. Of course a mega ton is 1000 times the size and we are talking 10 and 20 mega ton bombs. US has some 50 mega ton bombs.
Even on a comparatively small scale nuclear exchange, this is a no win scenario.
I really doubt we would ever nuke NK. The south would suffer from that too. But I'm sure our carriers, subs & bombers would be working round the clock to pound them into dust.
