Thanks everyone for your support. He was just like family and he was my best friend. I could try for the rest of my life but I'd always be comparing the replacement pooch to max - He was the best, so well behaved and was loved by many.

Our vet gave him 6 months 4 years ago and he just kept on trucking along. The thing is, he probably would have kept battling death for us for the next few years. I just felt so selfish letting him suffer through life for me.
