I tested DW and used it like 3 times in my whole life, and believe me you can do very heavy production without it. For me, it's just Photoshop, slice, do some fast code in Notepad++, open in FF with WebDeveloper Add-on for the last touches and that's it. The few times I used DW I got more errors and incompatibilities than real solutions. Even though I never used the latest versions (and I don't feel the need to), I really don't feel the need to use a decent yet NOT PERFECT tool when it's easier, faster (well, using macros, of course) and more efficient to do it right from the beginning.
btw, for really stupid WYSIWYG stuff, the best tool I've ever used was Netscape Composer 4.7. There are many programs still using layouts I "wireframed" in NS Composer many years ago
