I just think attorneys worry about "Billable Minutes" too damn much and look for every way possible to protract out the time litigating parties go back and forth with each other.
Last year between all my businesses the legal bills were in 6 figures. That just makes me cringe.
One time I got a bill from a firm I used to use in LA, and the pricks had itemized charges for the number of fucking paper clips that were used for our files. I went bonkers on that bs when I was paying $295 an hour. Talk about going for every penny.

Write to them and tell them that unless they lose the stationery charges they lose your business. Usually gets them moving. Some US attorneys are bigger crooks than the guys they reperesent.
