how can u say it's impractical?
it's very practical for a big party where everyone is standing around
hold your drink and plate in one hand while you eat with your free hand (or just stick your face in your plate like a dog)
otherwise you have to set your drink down somewhere (along with everyone else)
and end up losing your drink or getting it mixed up with someone else's, etc etc
