Being a webmaster who runs low-traffic, micro-niche sites, I've seen no reduction in sales or income that I can blame on tubes or file-sharing sites. If it wasn't for the weak US dollar, I'd be making a lot more than I did a decade ago. As it is, I'm pretty well holding steady.
I realized a long time ago that I can't compete with the "WalMarts" of the porn business (I tried and got man-handled... ), but I've carved out a good niche with my mom and pop, corner-store style sites.
Too many people want to rule the world without having the imagination, ability, or financial backing. I'm content to rule my neighbourhood.

Micro niche is a different story totally. Surfers are getting bored of general tube sites and micro tube sites are popping up everywhere lately. MIcro niche can get away with 5 minute clips and still obtain large numbers of bookies. Trying to run less than full length movies on a general tube site is like spitting in the wind.
