I would ignore any correspondence from him directly unless it comes from a court of law somewhere. Don't apologize and don't offer to sell. I was in a similar situation and i'm ignoring them until I get something official from the court system. I'll decide at that point what to do. A lot of trademark owners will go after the domains and get them easily because of scare tactics. They don't actually have the money or intend to fight over it. They just want it handed over to them freely. Just don't do anything until you get a legal Cease & Desist from a court.
