I worked for the biggest distributor of VHS/DVD/novelties for many years in the 1990s and still talk to my colleagues in the offline porn biz. There are still fortunes being made by some. DVD sales have not sucked since the late 1990's- they were at their peak then and continued strong for many, many years after that. DVD sales really didn't slow down overall until a few years ago and even then that only applies to the aggregate. The top studios nowadays are essentially multimedia companies and still do very well between DVD and VOD and broadcast and international and their web site partnerships.
