I don't use condoms regularly in my personal life either, just get tested regularly and make sure your partner does this as well and is on birth control. Ive never had a problem.... on the other hand my buddy will not do it without a rubber and he already got a girl pregnant and caught some std, i would guess syphilis or something you go on meds for.
I think knowing your partner is the most important.
