The company I send to pays me 50 pps and I send around 100 joins per month but their ratio is good so it keeps me sending instead of switching for a higher pps that may not convert as good. I would love it if they would pay me 70+ pps. :x

Basically you gotta look at the bottom dollar instead of the pps level. I agree though after being used to a certain pps and it getting lowered does suuuuck.
